Daikoku is the god of agriculture, farmers, plenty and rice and is often seen in concert with the god Ebisu, with whom he shares several characteristics. Daikoku usually has a bulging sack slung over his shoulder and is depicted standing on bales of rice - both symbols of prosperity.
