Shogoin Temple Wall in Snow, Kyoto

Shogoin Temple (聖護院) in Kyoto is located in Sakyo-ku, east of the Imperial Palace (Gosho) across the Kamo River near Kyoto University. Shogoin was founded over 900 years ago, though the present buildings are around 300 years old as the original structures were destroyed in repeated fires.
