Nipponzan Myohoji (日本山妙法寺) is a breakaway branch of Nichiren Buddhism which began in 1917. Nipponzan Myohoji actively campaigns for world peace and holds the Lotus Sutra as its highest tenet of faith. There are Nipponzan Myohoji monasteries in the USA and UK, as well as Japan. Nipponzan Myohoji adherents have constructed peace pagodas around the world including the one in Battersea Park in London.
