The modern art on Naoshima is well represented by this iconic work "Pumpkin" done in fiberglass by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Her Red Pumpkin counterpoint is at the other side of Naoshima near the port. Kusama's Yellow Pumpkin is placed on a jetty reaching out into the sea, which washes over the foot of the sculpture creating beautiful reflections.
