Gifu City Science Museum is located next to Yatsukusa Park close to Nishi-Gifu Station in Gifu city.

Gifu City Science Museum Foundation
Gifu City Science Museum was first established in 1955 but moved to its present location in 1980. The planetarium was added in 1988.
Gifu City Science Museum Exhibits
The two storey museum has hands-on exhibits related to local nature in Gifu Prefecture, science and technology, space and meteorology. On the roof is a large telescope.
There are regular 30 minute fun mini-lectures on science which are enjoyable and informative for young children (and adults, too!)
The hands-on science exhibits demonstrate the properties of atmospheric pressure, gases and simple mechanics.
There is a model railway, a space suit and a model of the interior of the earth also on display.
The planetarium seats over 200 people and has regular shows explaining the night sky and other themes, some of them set to music.

Admission to Gifu City Science Museum is 300 yen and to the museum and planetarium is 610 yen for adults. For children from 3 years of age until the end of junior high school is 200 yen for the museum and planetarium
Gifu City Science Museum is located a 15 minute walk from Nishi Gifu Station, one stop west of JR Gifu Station.
There are infrequent community buses that run past the museum from Nishi Gifu Station or more frequent Gifu City buses to and from JR Gifu Station (bus stop 6) and Meitetsu Gifu Station. From JR Gifu Station and Meitetsu Gifu Station get of at the Kagakuken-mae stop (210 yen; 15 minutes).
Other places of interest in Gifu include Gifu Castle, the Nawa Insect Museum, the Gifu Daibutsu in Shohoji Temple and the Eizo and Toichi Kato Memorial Art Museum all in and around Gifu Koen (Gifu Park) near the Nagaragawa River, 15 minutes by bus north of Gifu Station.
