Kato Eizo-Toichi Memorial Art Museum History
The Kato Eizo-Toichi Memorial Art Museum was established in 1991 and is dedicated to the work of the local nihonga-style painters Eizo (1906-1972) and Toichi Kato (1916-1996).
Both drew inspiration for their work from flowers and also the wildlife and nature of Gifu Prefecture, in particular the cormorants of the Nagara River and Mt. Kinka.
Kato Eizo-Toichi Memorial Art Museum Exhibits
The Kato Eizo-Toichi Memorial Art Museum is on one floor which includes the permanent exhibition of the brothers' work and a second exhibition troom, which is used for temporary exhibitions by local artists and crafts people including calligraphy.
The work on display highlights the superb rendentions of still-life flowers by the brothers.

Admission to Kato Eizo-Toichi Memorial Art Museum is 300 yen for adults and 150 yen for elementary and junior high school students.
Kato Eizo-Toichi Memorial Art Museum is located north east of JR Gifu Station. Take a bus from JR Gifu Station and alight at the Gifukoen Rekishihakubutsukan-mae stop. The bus fare is 210 yen for adults; 100 yen for children.
