JR Sannomiya Station, Kobe 三ノ宮駅
The Sannomiya district of Kobe is the main business and entertainment area of the city. JR Sannomiya Station, along with the nearby Kobe-Sannomiya Station and Sannomiya-Hanadokeimae Station on the Kobe subway form Kobe's major transit hub.
JR Sannomiya Station, Kobe-Sannomiya Station and Sannomiya-Hanadokeimae Station are all connected by walkways and the underground shopping mall, Santica.
Sannomiya Station Trains
JR Sannomiya Station is on the JR Kobe Line connecting Osaka Station and Himeji Station in Himeji. The JR Kobe Line is one section of the longer Tokaido Main Line. Motomachi and Kobe Station, 0.8 km and 2 km to the west, are the next stations on the line to Himeji.
There are direct Rapid and Special Rapid Services from JR Sannomiya Station to Amagasaki (15 minutes), Osaka (21 minutes) and Kyoto Station (52 minutes).
Trains to Himeji take 42 minutes.
The Super Hakuto (スーパーはくと) limited express between Kyoto and Kurayoshi in Tottori Prefecture stops at Sannomiya as does the Hamakaze Limited Express for Kinosaki Onsen from Osaka.
Connecting Stations & Lines
Kobe-Sannomiya Station has trains on the following lines: Hanshin Railway (Main Line), Hankyu Railway (Kobe Line, Kobe Kosoku Line) and the Kobe New Transit (Port Island Line).
The Hankyu Kobe Line also connects Umeda and Kobe-Sannomiya Station.
The Kobe Tozai Line has trains from Kobe-Sannomiya to Nishidai.
The Port Island Line runs from Kobe-Sannomiya Station to Kobe Airport.
Sannomiya-Hanadokeimae Station has Kobe subway trains on the Seishin-Yamate Line to Shin-Kobe Station and the Kaigan Line to Shin-Nagata.
Highway Buses From Sannomiya Station
These include day and overnight buses to Tokyo Station, Busta Shinjuku and Ikebukuro Station in Tokyo, buses to Yokohama Station, Nagoya Station, Okayama, Hiroshima, Itami Airport, Kansai International Airport (KIX), Tottori, Arima Onsen, Matsuyama, Takamatsu, Kochi and Imabari.
Sannomiya Bus Terminal is inside the Mint shopping complex on 1F.
Sannomiya Station is also a hub for local Kobe city buses and a stop for the Kobe City Loop Bus.

Sannomiya Station is within walking distance of the Kitano area with its historic western houses. Just south of the station is the Hanadokei (Flower Clock), a Kobe landmark.
Various department stores and shopping complexes are part of the station buildings or are located nearby. These include Mint Kobe, with 9 floors and a basement of shopping and dining with a bus station on the first floor, Sogo department store, Kobe Marui (0101) department store, Sannomiya OPA and Vivre.
