Kintetsu Rail Passes
If your stay or vacation in Japan will be limited to Nagoya, Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Kyoto, Osaka and nearby areas such as the Kii Peninsula, Kumano Kodo, Iga-Ueno, Toba and Ise Jingu, you may well be advised to purchase one of Kintetsu Railway's rail passes rather than the Japan Rail Pass.

The Kintetsu Rail Pass allows for five consecutive day's travel on Kintetsu's local, rapid and express trains and three vouchers for travel on Kintetsu Limited Express trains such as the Urban Liner between Nagoya and Osaka. The price is 3,800 yen with the child ticket for children aged 6-11 priced at 1,900 yen. Children under 6 travel free.
The Kintetsu Rail Pass Wide allows for five consecutive day's travel on Kintetsu's local, rapid and express trains and three vouchers for travel on Kintetsu Limited Express trains as well as ticket vouchers to and from Kansai International Airport and Chubu International Airport (on Meitetsu Railways). The Kintetsu Rail Pass Wide also includes free travel on Mie Kotsu Bus and Toba City 'Kamome' (sea gull) buses. The price is 5,860 yen with no reductions for children over 6. Children under 6 travel free.
The 1-Day Kintetsu Rail Pass and the 2-Day Kintetsu Rail Pass offer travel on Kintetsu local, rapid and express trains between Osaka, Nara and Kyoto in addition to travel on Nara Kotsu buses as far as Horyuji Temple.
Kintetsu Rail Passes are only available for foreign tourists or Japanese permanently resident overseas.
Kintetsu rail passes can be purchased from Kintetsu International or affiliated travel agencies overseas. You will be issued a voucher which is then exchanged for your rail pass upon arrival in Japan. There are exchange offices at both Kansai International Airport (Osaka) and Chubu International Airport (Nagoya).
In Japan, Kintetsu Rail Passes can be purchased at Kansai International Airport, Chubu International Airport, the Kansai Tourist Information Centers in Shinsaibashi and Kyoto Tower 3F as well as the BIC Camera store in Namba, BIC Camera Kyoto Station and BIC Camera Nagoya Station.
The 1-Day Kintetsu Rail Pass and the 2-Day Kintetsu Rail Pass are also on sale at Miyako Hotels in Osaka and Kyoto.

Kinki Nippon Railway Company (Kintetsu)
The Kinki Nippon Railway Company (Kintetsu) is the largest rail network after JR in Japan and connects Nagoya Kintetsu Station in the Chubu district of central Japan with Osaka Namba Station, Tsuruhashi and Uehommachi in the Kansai, Kintetsu Nara Station in Nara (with changes as Yamato-Yagi and Yamato-Saidaiji stations), Tenri and Kyoto Kintetsu Station as well as Kuwana, Yokkaichi and further south Toba and Kashikojima in the Ise Shima region of Mie Prefecture.
