Yurikamome 新交通ゆりかもめ

The New Transit Yurikamome (Shinkotsu Yurikamome) is a driverless, automated transit service linking Shimbashi Station in Shimbashi to Toyosu Station in Toyosu, via the entertainment and shopping district of Odaiba across the Rainbow Bridge in Tokyo. The entire length of the line is 14.7km.

The Yurikamome opened in 1995 and has steadily grown in popularity, transporting an average of 160,000 people per day. The Ariake-Toyosu stretch of the line opened in 2006.

The stations on the Yurikamome employ the voices of various voice actors known for their work in anime and movies for their announcements.

The name Yurikamome comes from the black-headed seagull found in Tokyo Bay, which is the official prefectural bird.

Yurikamome Stations

The complete list of stations on the Yurikamome is: 

Shimbashi - connects with the JR Yamanote Line (2 stops from Tokyo Station), the Tokaido Line for trains to Fujisawa, Hiratsuka, Odawara and Atami, the Yokosuka Line for Yokohama and the Keihin-Tohoku Line for services to ShinagawaYokohama Station in downtown Yokohama, and Ofuna. Shimbashi Station also has Tokyo subway trains on the Toei Asakusa Line between Nishi-Magome in Ota and Oshiage in Sumida and on the Ginza Line from Asakusa to Shibuya.

Shiodome - connects with the Toei Oedo Line and gives access to the shops, restaurants, museums and offices of Shiodome.



Shibaura-futo - the train rises in a 270-degree loop to cross Rainbow Bridge offering spectacular views.

Odaiba-kaihinkoen - is close to the Sony ExploraScience Museum and the Tokyo Teleport Station of the Rinkai Line.

Daiba - the main point of access for Aqua City shopping mall with its Disney Store, the Hilton Tokyo Odaiba, the Grand Pacific Le Daiba, DiverCity Tokyo mall and Symbol Park.

Fune-no-kagakukan - is convenient for the Museum of Maritime Science, Tokyo International Exchange Center and the Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation).

Telecom Center - is adjacent to the Telecom Center building, and close to the Miraikan and the Oedo Onsen Monogatari Hot Springs.

Aomi - is close to Palette Town mall which includes Venus Fort and Megaweb - the Palette Town Big Wheel - plus Zepp Tokyo.

Kokusai-tenjijo-seimon - is the nearest station to Tokyo Big Sight convention and exhibition center and Tokyo Ferry Terminal.

Ariake - is close to the Panasonic Center and the Tokyo Bay Ariake Washington Hotel. It is close to the Kokusai-Tenjijo Station of the Rinkai Line.

Ariake-tennis-no-mori - is convenient for the Ariake Coliseum, which hosts major tennis tournaments and the numerous outdoor courts nearby in Ariake Tennis Forest Park (有明テニスの森公園).

Shijo-mae - the station adjacent to the new Toyosu Market, which will replace the old Tsukiji Fish Market.

Shin-toyosu - is adjacent to the MIFA Football Park.

Toyosu - for the Gas Museum and Lalaport Urban Dock shopping mall with a branch of Kidzania. Toyosu Station is also on the Yurakucho Line of Tokyo Metro.

The Yurikamome competes with the Rinkai Line for access to Odaiba. The Rinkai Line runs from Osaki to Shin-Kiba.

Yurikamome Line Times

The first Yurikamome train leaves Shimbashi at 6am with the last train to Toyosu at 11.50pm. The last train is to Ariake at 12.30am.

The first Yurikamome train from Toyosu departs at 5.41am with the last train through to Shimbashi at 11.53pm. The last train is to Ariake at 12.32am.

A one-day pass on the Yurikamome is 820 yen. IC cards such as Suica, Pasmo, Manaca etc are valid on the Yurikamome.
