Sendai Subway 仙台市営地下鉄
Sendai's subway system in the port city of Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture has two lines:
-the Namboku Line (color-coded Green), which runs south-north from Tomizawa Station to Izumi-Chuo Station.
-the Tozai Line (color-coded Light Blue), which runs west-east between Yagiyama Dobutsu Koen Station and Arai Station.
The intersecting station between the two subway lines is JR Sendai Station which is on the Akita and Tohoku Shinkansen lines, the Senzan Line from Sendai to Yamagata Station in Yamagata Prefecture, the Tohoku Main Line and the Senseki Line between Aoba-dori Station in Sendai to Ishinomaki Station in Ishinomaki, the Sendai Airport Line to Sendai Airport and the Joban Line from Nippori Station and Ueno Station in Tokyo to Iwanuma Station and Sendai Station.
The Namboku Line opened in 1987. The newer Tozai Line was completed in December 2015. The Namboku Line uses fuzzy logic to control the speed and acceleration of its trains - a world first.
