Hiroshima Peace Park Mobilized Students

Hiroshima's Mobilized Students' Memorial

Situated in Hiroshima's Peace Park, the Hiroshima Mobilized Students' Memorial, draws young people from Japan and around the world to pay their respects to the hundreds of thousands of students who were mobilized on all sides in World War II and the thousands who were killed in the conflict.

The tower-like concrete memorial has a recording in both English and Japanese describing the statistics and fate of young students drafted in to the military in World War II. The memorial is adorned with offerings of flowers and origami paper cranes.
